MGMT E-7543
Applied Introduction to Design Thinking and Innovation
The world is changing fast, and ambiguity is everywhere.
Design thinking, innovation, agile, and other approaches to navigating complex problems have never been more important.
We believe in radical access to design and innovation tools, methods, frameworks, and mindsets.
This is an applied, active course.
Students learn the foundational mindsets and moves of design thinking and innovationmdash;and the cognitive science behind why they work.
Drawing on research in metacognition, creative cognition, and decision-making under uncertainty, the course helps students build not just a tool kit but a way of thinking.
Students practice recognizing their own cognitive patterns, shifting between modes of thinking, and applying structured approaches to make change in their lives, organizations, and the world.
Students may not take both MGMT E-7542 (offered previously) and MGMT E-7543 for degree or certificate credit.
