Organic Chemistry of Life

This second-semester organic chemistry course focuses on organic reactions within living systems.

Emphasis is placed on the arrow-pushing reaction mechanisms of enzymes and cofactors in several critical biological processes and pathways, as well as in the biosynthesis of natural products.

This course does not include a laboratory component.
