Introduction to Genomics

This course provides an overview of human and comparative genomic studies, genomic architecture, numerical and structural variations, and regulatory mechanisms of the genome.

The course topics include current and novel practices in genome interrogations, global copy number variation (CNV) assessment, sequencing, and data analysis.

This course cultivates an understanding of functional genomics and genomic malfunction, genome-wide association studies (GWAS), and the new field of personal genomics, along with discussions on social and ethical impacts resulting from advances in genomics studies.
