Sociology of Health, Illness and Medicine
This course will explore topics in the sociology of health, illness and medicine, including the social causes and consequences of health and illness.
This course will include the relationship between society and health including ethics, social inequality, stress, social factors and health care delivery systems.
Additionally, the course will seek to understand health, health care and medicine through different domains such as health professional interaction, research settings and cultural arenas.
Topics will include social epidemiology, social stress, illness and disability, and the health care system.
