PSYC E-1607
Current Topics in Cognitive Development
What do babies know about the world? How does that early knowledge transform into the rich, complex thinking of older children and adults? And how do scientists answer these questions? This course covers several of the big topics in developmental psychology.
Within each topic, we learn about how classic research led to modern, cutting edge research and ongoing debates we see today.
Through these topics, we dig into what we know about the mind and how it develops across the lifespan.
Students get a chance to choose an area of interest to explore independently and share with the class.
Whether interested in psychology, neuroscience, education, public policy, or simply understanding how we become who we are, this course offers a science-based look at the developing mind.
