Chinese for Communication I

This course covers Lessons 1 to 3 of the textbook.

This course is designed to introduce standard Mandarin sounds, tones, as well as basic grammar and vocabulary for students who have had no exposure to the Mandarin language before.

The Chinese writing system and elements of Chinese culture will also be introduced.

The focus will be on developing basic communicative competence in Chinese listening, speaking, and reading.
