Directed Studies: Understanding the American Workplace

The Directed Studies: Understanding the American Workplace course is designed to provide the historical background that has led to the current American workplace.

We will explore the context in which Management Practices, Politics, Legal Decisions and Laws, Cultural Changes, Values and Ethics, and Technology have led to the American Workplace of today and how these and other factors will continue to evolve our American Workplace of the future.

Students will also gain firsthand insight by working on a project with local business owners and will learn about the challenges and rewards that business owners experience.
