AutoCAD III: Working Drawings

Course Duration: 2.5 weeks Prerequisite: AutoCAD II or work experience with instructor approval.

Quarters Offered: Winter | Spring | Summer | Fall This advanced course focuses on how professional offices create, organize, and deliver complete sets of construction documents using AutoCAD.

You’ll move beyond drafting individual drawings and learn the production workflows, standards, and coordination techniques required to assemble polished, multi-sheet working drawings.

Participants should already feel comfortable with core AutoCAD tools and commands.

Course Details Through a hands-on residential project, you’ll draft floor plans, enlarged plans, roof plans, and building elevations while developing a custom title block and drawing labels from scratch.

You’ll integrate referenced files, manage layers and scales, and coordinate model and paper space layouts to produce clear, professional documentation.

Emphasis is placed on real-world practices, including file management, plotting, and organizing sheets to align with National CAD Standards.

Taught by an Autodesk Certified Instructor and working professional, the course combines demonstrations, guided exercises, and applied project work to strengthen both your technical skills and production confidence.

By the end, you’ll understand not just how to draft—but how to think like a professional preparing deliverables for clients, consultants, and contractors.
