Sports Medicine Summer Academy

Discover the Science Behind Peak Performance: UC San Diego Sports Medicine Summer Academy Are you a high school junior or senior with a passion for sports, health, or medicine? The UC San Diego Sports Medicine Summer Academy offers an immersive, hands-on experience in the dynamic field of musculoskeletal and sports medicine.

Designed for motivated students entering 11th or 12th grade, this intensive program blends clinical learning with real-world application.

Participants will engage with professionals in the field through interactive lectures, gain exposure to current sports medicine research, and build practical skills—from sideline evaluation and splinting to joint injections and injury assessment.

With field trips and experiential activities throughout the course, students will step into the world of sports medicine and explore what it truly means to support athletes—from the locker room to the playing field.
