Ikebana

Ikebana expresses the beauty and elegance of nature through a transformation of plant materials into a work of art.

In Japan, ikebana--or flower arranging--has been perfected and elevated to an art form.

Its beauty dazzles shoppers in giant displays in the store windows of Tokyo, and graces temples and shrines.

Ikebana is practiced by millions of people as an entrance to a rich and creative world.

Using fresh or dried branches, leaves, and flowers, students create new and differently styled arrangements each week.

The first week features a demonstration by the instructor, a video and information on supplies and materials to bring to future classes.
