Figure Drawing I

10 WEEKS | LIVE ONLINE | EVERY QUARTER Gain greater confidence in your ability to compose and render the human form.

This course provides an in-depth study of how to draw the human figure using live nude models.

Within a positive and supportive environment, you will focus on basic proportions and proper construction of the human form as well as light and shadow, contour, line, and composition.

In-class drawing exercises will be enhanced by demonstrations of how to simplify and assemble the more complex areas of the body.

What You Will Learn: Fundamental tools for and experience in drawing live nude models.

How to draw from short and long poses, and basic ways to approach life drawing, such as capturing gesture, measuring proportion, and understanding and clearly drawing the perspective within a human form.

How to work with line as well as with shapes of value (light and dark).

Materials: Please bring 18x24" pad of newsprint paper, drawing board, and charcoal sticks to first class.
