Introduction to Creative Nonfiction

This is a workshop-based course for students interested in creative nonfiction: reading it, discussing it, and writing it for yourself.

Working off the simple premise that good readers make good writers, we read and discuss exemplary work by the likes of Zadie Smith, James Baldwin, and Joan Didion, with the aim of using what we observe in our own writing.

This course if for students who love words, are curious about creative nonfiction, and are looking for an excuse to experiment with voice, genre, and style.
