Study the physiology of the human endocrine system and learn about diseases that manifest with its dysfunction.

You learn in depth about the structure and function of the major endocrine glands; molecular classification of hormones; how molecular structure can influence hormonal action; regulation of hormone production and secretion; cellular mechanism of hormone action on target cells; the link between the endocrine system and the nervous system; the dynamic homeostatic mechanisms in place to achieve desired hormone levels in response to organismal needs; and how homeostasis disruption leads to human endocrine diseases, including diabetes, thyroid disorders and cancer.
