Case Studies in the Lives of Persons
How can we understand and articulate the lives of individuals? How do we empathetically depict a person's life in a way that honors their behaviors, development, and transformations? People navigate their worlds—consciously or unconsciously—through various roles and within complex communities, shaping and being shaped by their experiences.
This course takes a theory-neutral, descriptive approach that allows for comparative theoretical exploration.
Using conceptual tools designed to identify nuanced commonalities, differences, and significant patterns, students analyze selected adult lives and apply these insights in crafting a psychological biography or autobiography.
