Capstone in College Admissions Consulting
The capstone course is the culminating experience of the Professional Program in College Admissions Consulting.
Designed to practice and apply the knowledge and skills developed in the Foundations, Strategies, and Business Building for IECs courses, this capstone course provides learners with a structured opportunity to reflect and continue learning from experts in the field while also honing their own college admissions advising skills.
Throughout the course, learners will synthesize what they learned in previous courses through a Capstone project, in which learners guide a mock client through the entire college admissions advising process.
Learners will attend 4 required live-online class sessions wherein they’ll engage in collaborative learning through a blend of class discussions and small-group breakouts.
Within this context, learners will explore and practice real-world advising scenarios, receive feedback from their peers and instructor, share mentor insights, and refine their professional practice.
To complement this experience, learners will connect with a mentor with whom they will conduct 4 informational conversations and who will help provide feedback on their final project.
Upon completion of the Capstone, learners will feel confident in their advising abilities and prepared for the next stage of their journey as college admissions consultants.
