Editing is storytelling.
Throughout the process, from first assembly to final delivery, editors are responsible for fulfilling the film's potential through a full command of craft, as well as an aesthetic understanding of story, character and rhythm.
By examining different editing styles, this course covers the elements of storytelling, performance, pace, emotion, action, continuity and time manipulation.
Instruction includes lectures, discussion and viewing exercises.
You also learn to select the most appropriate editing systems and technology by evaluating the limitations of budgets and time.
