The Crown: Analyzing British History from Edward VII to Charles III Through History and Film

How did Britain go from sitting atop the world's greatest Empire in 1901 to Brexit in 2020 and into a prolonged economic and political slide, as well as sundry royal scandals, through 2026? Using the monarchy as our lens, we analyze Britain's tumultuous twentieth and twenty-first centuries with a focus on two world wars, imperial and economic decline, and modern transformations and social upheaval, as well as abdication, regnal transitions, and royal scandals that have plagued the House of Windsor (notably Princess Diana's death, Mexit, and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's actions within the wider Jeffrey Epstein story).

Films and television series to be screened include Downton Abbey , The King's Speech , The Crown , The Queen , Spencer , and documentary footage.
