Political Speech and Public Influence

This course offers a hands-on look at how political speech and rhetoric, when used with clarity and intention, can influence public perception.

Through a close analysis of historical and contemporary speeches, students explore what makes political communication powerful and how to make it personal.

They develop the tools to find their voice and learn how to use it to persuade, inspire, and lead.

Real-time speaking challenges include campaign speeches, debates, and press conferences to help students grow more confident, refine their presence, and step into the role of a communicator who can handle high-pressure moments with conviction.

Students also hear directly from leaders across government, exposing them to the pathways politicians and public figures use to shape opinion and lead through speech.
