ECON S-1814

Urban Economics

Why are some cities and states richer than others? What drives people and businesses to cluster in certain places and not others? This course explores the economic forces that shape local outcomes, such as productivity, wages, housing, and inequality, and how these forces influence where people live, where firms operate, and how urban and state policymakers respond.

Students gain a deeper understanding of how local economies function and what makes places thrive or struggle in today's economy.
