Introduction to Statistics and Applied Data Analysis
This course is an intensive introduction to the fundamental concepts of probability, statistical inference, and statistical computing necessary for a working knowledge of applied statistics.
The course moves at an accelerated pace and requires a substantial commitment in time and effort.
The primary goal of this course is to prepare students for conducting research in an applied field, which requires being comfortable with the technical details of analysis, statistical computing, and the scientific process as a whole, from determining appropriate methods for addressing a research question to clearly communicating findings in the context of the question.
The course explores applications within biostatistics, among other fields.
