Introduction to Pro Tools

This course provides a comprehensive introduction to Pro Tools, focusing on the core workflows used in professional audio production.

Students will produce a complete song from session setup through final mix while building the technical proficiency required to work independently or in professional studio environments.

Topics include navigation and display basics; the Edit and Mix windows; audio recording and editing; importing and working with audio and video files; fades and clip management; Elastic Audio; routing and signal flow; basic post-production concepts, including scoring a short commercial to picture; real-time plug-ins; MIDI fundamentals; speech recognition tools; and ARA plug-in support, including Melodyne integration.
